IoTecha Celebrates Maryland Becoming the First to Adopt Comprehensive Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Interconnection Rules
June 13, 2025

The State of Maryland just became the first state to adopt comprehensive Vehicle-to-Grid (hashtag V2G) interconnection rules. It’s a major step toward unlocking the full potential of EVs as flexible energy resources.
For IoTecha Corp, it’s exciting to see this kind of leadership from a state where we were awarded our NASPO ValuePoint contract. Maryland is now not only opening doors to smart EV infrastructure but also helping set the standard for how V2G becomes part of everyday energy use.
With a clear pathway for the rollout of AC V2G, this move gives manufacturers, fleets, individual drivers, and communities the confidence to move forward with a cost-effective and budget-friendly approach. The most expensive part of a V2G system is the inverter, and in AC V2G, it is already onboard the vehicle at virtually no extra cost. That makes the EVSE and installation significantly more affordable, especially in residential settings.
This is the kind of momentum the industry needs.
IoTecha pioneered the rollout of residential AC V2G in Europe. Now we’re excited for the opportunity to help drive it forward at home.
